I got this card since I have a HP computer, not even a card, its integrated. Anyway, its called: Intel Extreme Graphics with integrated memory of 64mb (using Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PL/GV Controller) and I was wondering if there is anyway to boost its visual output? When I play NFS2 for example, the graphics is really lagging. Sometimes it happens to go faster but not as smooth as you want it to be. If you guys know this integrated video, please tell me how if possible if I can make it better by changing settings maybe. I already have the latest drivers and my computer system is working fine.

btw, anyone know how much is a Nvidia Geforce 4 MX 440?

The integrated intel graphics are not the best choice for gaming. They don't support a lot of the newer graphical technologies that most games require, and they take up your system ram.

The MX440 is not all that better, but you may want to look at a Radeon 9600/Ti 4600 or higher for decent gaming performance that doesn't cost an arm and a few legs :)

Thanks for the info guys and yes, it definitely takes up my RAM, hence its integrated. *sighs*. I mention the MX440 since Im not really in need of a really good card. My friend has the MX440 and its really smooth compared to mine, whilst playing NFS2. I was considering a 9800xt but thats still fairly expensive.

Hey Kirupa, it seems you have used or dealt with the Intel integrated graphics, have you? lol, 6800 ultra? Settle for a x850 :P

I dealt with an integrated ATI card in the early 1990s on an IBM, so I remember changing it to get a nice VESA-slot S3 card. Most integrated cards that don't have their own memory are similar :elderly:

I checked out some bg info. http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1617357,00.asp

What really gave me an eye-opener was how they bought the x300 add in PCI card for $100 and it outperformed the new GMA 900 clearly in every test. Clearly, i need a new card!
