I just did some minor design work on this site, check it:
classical music (http://www.onlineclassical.com)
Web standards and simple readable interface. Could be more flourished and detailed I guess, but I needed to get the job done. Any surprisingly constructive opinions?

How many fonts do you need to make a website... just a thought.
Editorially speaking, work of arts (such as the different musical pieces listed sparingly in the bios) deserve italics. And paragraphs deserve indentations. And authors deserve accents if they have accented names. (ie: Frédéric Chopin)
Also, it's deceiving that the google ads and the articles have the same CSS applied (save for the boldiness of the google ads, who thus stand out more).
And i don't like the list bullets, they look like the albino version of the RAF.
Love the black background and the reddish header.
Well disguised music-store :p

Are you asking because you want to know? OR are you just being sarcastic? Because I think it is fine... and isn't obvious at all.
I think it looks good.

Editorially speaking, I am not responsible for the content on the site, but I will pass your comment on to my fellow cololegues. We are experimenting with different colors/positions of the google ads to optimize useability and revenue. Many elements, such as the bullets, are made in a hurry to get the site up and they will be revised. I do not agree about the fonts, I think they blend nicelly together.
Thanks for your comments fellas, much apprechiated.

I really like it david, as it was done in a hurry.
A quick suggestion is to reverse the hover and main state of the blue font style. Make it dark blue and on hover state make it light.
One more suggestion is to change bullets to something more "http://www.onlineclassical.com/", as Pomme_ said with that awful attitude...
One last thing...Contact section isn't so much alike the others.
Great job again & good luck! :thumb:

At first glance it is very clean and pretty percise. i like the floral background and the colors are very brilliant. I am not sure why there is black above the red header, and not just the purple background; I assume this is to tie in with the black footer but i don't think it is needed. Also i don't like how the page is always the same length becuase of the google ads, like the contact page which has way too much white space.
There is one too many <br /> tags after advertise here.
Why is google spelt goooogle? seems unprofessional.
I agree the dark blue would be better for the font and light blue for the hover.
Other than that the sight seems a bit too static so that after you look at the pretty colors for five seconds you are bored. You might want to add some flash animation, very simple and toned down flash could make the sight a bit better. Nice sight overall,

I think you hit your mark. I like the clean design, but I think there could be something to Pomme's comment about the fonts. It didn't really stand out at first, but reading his comment I did notice the serif font in the header, and the rest of the text being sans serif.
I'm not certain the bullets work with the rest of the design, either. I wonder if you could find something that would fit in with the design.
Otherwise, I like the cleanliness of the design, the background pattern blends into the background well, and the header is not obnoxious.
Great job for a quick turn around. Did you use a standardized template?

You would have to ask the google staff about this; personally I hate it. Apparently, google is "revising" some of their market and branding possibilities. Go figure.
Thank you all for your comments.
