That's mine. I know most of my gifts, because I'm greedy (not really haha) and mother said she got most on my list.
I feel so bad that me and my brother (19 and 21) still get a ****load of gifts, and everyone else only gets a couple.. but I might as well milk it for all its worth, cause it wont be like that for much longer. :?)

I'm going out to get my tree tonight. Then we gotta wait 24 hours for it to 'settle' then we shall decorate. I love getting a real tree, it's a lot of hassle, but you can't beat the scent... it brings christmas joy to my heart everytime... and I hate christmas so those trees are d**m powerful.
Anywho, after all of that I will post a picture.
VERY nice tree BTW. That's too perfect, is it a real tree?

nope.
we got real trees for 17 years (probably more, i wasnt alive.. lol) and my parents re-did the room that we put it in (thats the corner of it, its big dining room/living room) and they didnt want it to get all crapped out with the needles, and the water etc; (they wont even let my dog go in that room, we locked her out lol) so they opted for a fake one.. i like it.. it's all the same, without the hassle.
and it's easier to decorate.. we've had ours up since november lol

We have some trees growing out in the yard. Hopefully my dad will get around to chopping it down soon so I can post a picture. I can't get a picture of it now because someone seems to have stolen the camera...

My christmas tree is a beer pyramid painted green, with a star on top. And under it, maybe a bikini model with a fifth?

the newer fake trees are pretty sweet.... I saw some at a store the other day - some were like 8 - $900 with built in fiber-optic color changing lights! They were sooooo cool looking.

Yeah, my partner has a miniature fake tree with fiberoptics built in, it is hot! I love it.
His friend has a full sized fake tree that rotates and actualy has the lights built into the tips of the branches. It too is fantastic.

lol Disco that reminds me of my college days. One year I was all pissed up and I took this chick with me to go cut down a xmas tree (well, someone had to hold my beer lol). We cut down this 20 foot monster that was infront of the school and dragged it back to my dorm and decorated it with beer cans and rolling papers.

I share your feelings. A friend of mine came up with a good idea though. You take those little mini hard liquor bottles and hot glue gun on to the lids some ornament hooks and then hang the bottles all over the tree. Should make the holidays more enjoyable.

^ what for??? we do give a fair amount of money to charity at christmass / alot of other times of the year. But we still get presents and realy never do with out.
my tree is realy lame so i wont post it. It's a 19 year old plastic tree (still in good nick) and this year we did a realy half assed job in decorating it. Any way at christmass we spend little time at home pretty much all christmass eves with my mum's family, then christmass day with my dads family - then for a week after that we are either visiting family friends or family.

So... you put up a tree, decorate it and keep the presents underneath it... In what way does any of this commemorate the birth of Jesus? Honestly, Western traditions and "culture" (if you could call it that) has neither sense nor meaning.
Tree? Hrmph.

Gifts were brought from afar for the newborn baby jesus. we three kings of orient are with there precious gifts - the little drummer boy with his gift of music? It is the season of giving - God gave his only son. The tree with gifts around it is a way to celebrate a season of giving and good will to man.
Though it has become a bit commercialized, it is still good to see so many people be so generous and caring toward one another.

We haven't got ours out yet, but we have one big fake one which is quite cool and one paper and cardboard one that I made about 4 or 5 years ago which is hilarious!
I'll post a pic when we get them out of the attic.

Yea I know it is a pretty crappy image, from a cheap camera and without flash to get the real effect

Some words from Joni Mitchell
It's comin on christmas
They're cutting down trees
They're puttin up reindeer
And singin songs of joy and peace
I wish I had a river
I could skate away on.
From the album "Blue" Song "River"
Merry xmas people

Here is my christmas tree, even worse picture. It's an artificial tree, we have had it for 2 years. The weird thing is, it has different pine leaves, like off of different species all in one tree.

Fake tree, we used to have one fake (our white-lights only formal tree) then the colorful one was real. Now we just have 2 fakes :(

Well, I beat you all on the bad image count, It was dark this morning and I turned the flash off to get the whole effect. However, I couldn't be bothetred taking a nice picture, so this is very blurry and horrible
-enjoy!
[edit]
I just realised my pic is huge. I will find a smaller one (that can actually fit on the page)

Here is mine :) It's all real and the reason the quality is so good without the flash is because I used a tripod ;)

I wish I could be bothered to get a tripod...
[Edit] Got one for Christmas :)
We have our presents in the other room as the cats like to pee on stuff. Imagine that on christmas morning.:hair:
Have a good one! :?)

December 24th, 2004, 06:37 PM
hahaha, ben you made me laugh out loud there... but only because I have had a cat that liked to pee on things :)
As for the lack of presents... it's because I don't have names on my stuff yet, it's all still piled in my room by person. Tonight is the night though - plus I like to put stuff under on the eve instead of ahead of time. Stops people from seeing all the dvd and clothing shaped boxes and stuff ;)
