Here's first screenshots of next gen NS browser,
starts up super fast,
real nice,
RSS feeds all over the place etc etc..

Notice the "Display like IE" in context menu,
as IE-rendering is now included,
tho' it's still Firefox-based..

I love it so far (yes, that's my desktop.. :) )

Ooh... when I read the topic, I thought the browser was actually called "Netscape - Next Generation", in which case I wondered why they didn't just call it Nextscape.

Anywho, this looks cooler than whatever version it is that my siblings are using on their PCs, I'll have to introduce them to it tonight.

I have to say that I think the new design is atrocious. It's so busy, such an eye soar. I sincerely hope it has skins. No reason it wouldn't though if it's based of firefox and all. I don't really see the point in netscape coming back into the browser scene, it just seems like a half-assed attempt to regain some popularity. Eh, I dunno.

After using Safari a lot, I like the simplistik look, and I agree with 28 and NJS... the design is quite possibly one of the worst I've ever seen :(.

I can confirm it is skinable, works just as Firefox, except it's a new format, so none available yet..

Looks waaaaay too cluttered, would look much better with less of those buttons and search fields.

I must agree... when cluttered... it's harder to browse around pages as there is less space. Even if Netscape avails... who cares... I'm sticking to SlimBrowser and Mozilla...

I'm guessing most IE users will switch to netscape though... who knows!

Netscape is closer to Firefox than IE, but it's still pretty crappy.

I though Firefox was based on Mozilla(next browser of Mozilla) which was based on the old Netscape.... So they're going back to their own source?

Dont like it one bit!! The skin looks way to overdone for an impression - and it looks to bulky and the design just doesnt fit with my comp - Im a firefox kid anyway so ill stay with firefox - Dont know why there even bothering to make another netscape...

They're making it becuase they think the Netscape name still has some pull. This could very well do it in depending on end user experience. I'd be curious to find out what non-technical people think of it. Less clutter by default would be nice though, I'm guessing it could mostly be turned off, but I don't know that since I don't have an install here.

I don't like the curved edges, and it does look a bit cluttered.
