Thats not true at all, AT ALL!

Macs display colours at a lighter Gamma then PC's, so whether you are on a CRT from Dell or an Apple Cinema Display the colors will be brighter.

Besides, the colors that Apple displays are the real colors, not the messed up ones that PC users get ;)

I use the one in that photo and it is by far one of the most amazing computer screens i have seen. I think thy only difference to that one and the new ones are the border around the....and the new 30 incher which a whole other story. (I went to the apple store and my jaw just dropped to the ground, I sat on that thing for like 30 mins) But that monitor is great, 100x better then the other ones at my school...just looking at a photo the colors are soo different.

The NEC MultiSync FE2111 blows those out of the water in terms of quality. If you want the sharpest image and best color possible, go with a CRT. Screw LCD.

LCD's aren't capable of displaying the range of color that CRT's are. I'm sorry, but it's just not happening. Maybe when Plasma monitors come out, or when OLED takes off, but until then CRT's will take the cake for color accuracy, color vibrance, and sharpness. The LCD's do have better refresh rates though.

Colors on mac monitors look better for some reason, but if you MUST dull them down, you can change the color settings.

...but you can't do that on a Mac :devious:

Oh, and it's not just the 'contrast' that makes Apple displays different. It's in the OS, too (ColorSync and all). Another difference is in the Gamma range. You can try it with something like 'Adobe Gamma' - just set it to 'Macintosh Default' and you'll get something like Mac color... kinda.
