unless you're on a Mac, then you're screwed

or even another mouse? I have my cordless but I'm quite sure to keep a corded mouse around if something happens (or if the batteries die).

if you're on Windows then you can configure the numeric keypad to function instead of the mouse. get it from Accessories > Accessibility > Accessibility Wizard.
... but it's annoying :D

It takes getting used to, but on a Mac go to:
system preferences>keyboard&mouse>keyboard shortcuts
and check out the customizable key-mapping that can be done there ... there is full keyboard control to all desktop elements and change focus togle within a window as well as custom per-app settings you can make

....I navigated this thread and posted this entirely without a mouse :sure:

You can navigate all of windows with the keyboard. Tab moves between links or objects (shift tab does the same thing in reverse), alt tab to switch programs, windows-sign + d to go to the desktop, space bar or enter keys to do the same thing as left mouse, the little menu button beside the right windows sign to do a right click, to navigate the start menu, press the windows button on the keyboard, then use the letters to open up different tabs, or the arrow keys to move up and down through the objects, then press enter to open whatever thing. In internet explorer, backspace is to go back (or alt+left arrow), forward is alt+right arrow. Space bar to page down (but page down works aswell) and you use tab to access different things (and shift+tab to go in the opposite direction). In all honesty, I sometimes go all day without using the mouse. Unless I'm using Photoshop or Flash, it's a little more difficult then.

That's good to know. Does that let you get around 100% without the mouse?

That's good to know. Does that let you get around 100% without the mouse? eh ... try 80-90 %

you can't move the cursor but you can definately hit all the elements on yer desktop/apps ... browsers however are 'key elements' only :-/ so in that case you'd be screwed out of links and such

In Safari I think you can still "tab through links" then just hit enter and your good to go!

I barley ever use a mouse anymore, its so much faster to not take my hands off of the keyboard!

meThinks that your mostly right but there has been an occasion or two where not all links gained focus for me ... not sure what the distinction/glich would be in the page code.

...so I gave it a "most of the time" number

Alright, well now that I have my mouse back again, I need some more help!, when I was in the "Accessibility Wizard" adjusting it to make my numpad work for the mouse instead, well while I was in there I also clicked another box like how big do you want the text size on your icons etc. And well since that my Icons on the taskbar in the quicklaunch and startmenu have kinda gone out of focus, like they arnt clear and sharp they are pixulated, does anyone know where I can fix this?
