I've been searching the web a bit to try and find what a good resume should look like, what it should include. Obviously my resume should be creative media orientated (that's what I'm studying - you know, design, animation, flash, php, video editing etc.). I was wondering if mayeb some of you more exprience lads here could give me some pointers on how to contruct a good resume (not a portfolio site but a resume) as I have no experience in looking for jobs/internships and what not. Maybe some templates would be handy.

ehmmm........

Some people have online portfolios which allow you to view the persons work online. Some of these sites also have the option of downloading a doc/pdf version of their cv, I'd try viewing some of these first

maybe try the SOTW, it's full of portfolio sites and if I remember correctly several of them have the download doc/pdf function

Here are the main parts my recruiters (I own a staffing company) look for regardless of the position someone is applying for:

Skills, Certifications, Employment History, Education.

When someone is looking to fill a position, there are usually a certain set of minimum skills they are looking for. When we fill positions, the skills area is the first place we look. Then, once they find you have the skills listed, they look in employment history to make sure you have actually used them. If they are not in employment history, then they look in education and/or certifications.

Make sure your name and contact information is very noticable, that is almost more important than anything else. When looking through a stack of resumes, you want them to remember you and be able to quickly contact you. I personally like that Word resume template with the huge thick bold section of your name. Also, since you are trying to get into a field where you can create a portfolio, do it. I would give at least 1 example of every design skill you have. If you have Flash on there build something in Flash, or if you have video editing, have something that a perspective meployer can see that was editied by you.
