Here is a site i just got done with:
www.ullmaneye.com

THings to consider:
Client wanted a good looking site but nothing too intense graphically. Client wanted a more practical commercial feel without looking corporate. Browse around the site and tell me what you think.

Thanks.
Mike

If the site is for older people have you concidered text size, screen readers and simple navigation paradigms?

I don't think the site needs to be flash, there's limited to nil transitions and the information displayed on the site doesn't really need to be dynamic.

The navigation is very nice, but extremely complicated (from an older persons perspective) and the design is clean and uncluttered.

Overall, the site is nicely designed and flows well, but I think you may have overlooked the resources of the target market.

Thanks for the feedback.
Flash isnt really essential, ur right, but it said to say but i felt MUCH more comfortable doing a Flash site on a deadline than an HTML site.

It is for older people but i dont mean frail, im saying 50-70. I didnt want to over clutter the site with links so i thought the dropdown menu would be the best way to go. In case that does seem complicated for patients i am in the process of adding a side menu. The menu will be on the right and will display the same links that can be found on the sub menu but only the links of the section your own (if your reading about cataracts, it will show the cataract links to the side). Thanks for the feedback!

Well I don't like the nav text or the logo text for what you're trying to accomplish. I mean if I had a vision problem and I was trying to look that dude up I might have trouble reading the menu. Other than that I like it but I want to stress that I think this is a failing design for the objective you've described.

*edit* for futher reviews, the old people that are gonna be operated on probably arent gonna be able to see any website ;) , but it can be viewed by relatives and for people who just want Cataract info.

overall some of these guys said it best...the sites not bad but i think you mised the target market. WAYYY too small for the ppl your trying to reach. also altho you feel more comfortable in flash, DW could have done it better. also older people dont have fast connections and all that for them is gonna be killer slow. static wouldve been way beter for them

the main menus fonts are too constrained and the main text is too small and the images could be sharper as also the edges of the site, when i sit back and look at it the site looks blurry to me.

just some constructiv critisism. hope it all works out for the better

blurry huh??? thx for the critiques. As for load time i think its compressed pretty well. I tested it on dial up and suprising is pretty quick. Thanks for the comments
