In order to utilize 'Frontpage Server Extensions' on your own computer you need to be using Windows XP PROFESSIONAL!!!!!
This is becaue ONLY the professional Windows XP has the Internet Service Pack (IIS) available. According to Microsoft's Discovering Frontpage that comes with the software, pg. 10, you have to go to 'add/remove' programs to configure your Windows XP as a web server. Then the Frontpage Server Extensions may be downloaded (they may be on the Windows XP Professional disk(s), I don't know).
No where have I found this information. I spent two days digging around for it.
