WOW!!!! I WANT FLASH 8 NOW!
The performance is incredibly faster! And the demo is done on a mac (which is significantly slower with flash than windows at the moment). When do you guys think this will be coming out?

Really nice! The faster flash player is a big plus. That means I can have 100 randomly blue colored circles moving around as opposed to just 25. Yay for progress!

Those features look pretty nifty. I wonder how much the upgrade is going to cost though... :-\

I imagine it will be similar to what it is now, probably being $50 or $100 cheaper if you get it within like a month or so of release. It will still be awhile though. Flash 8 shouldnt come out til 2005 sometime. Im sure the player will be out before then though, so its possible to expereince some of the new features before the actual authoring environment is released.

something I noticed in the video was the AS used in the filter effect. For color, they have:
filterObj.color = 0x00000000;
Notice the extra zeros on the end of that number. Could this mean that they are now adding in the alpha channel to the hex? That'd be nice =)
of course it could be a typo (or something else?) since there is also an alpha property

Wow that looks great. I can't wait 'til this comes out. I've yet to use MX 04 because I understand that they got rid of the easy point and click method of actionscripting or something. I hope they bring that back and gear it towards people like me that aren't actionscript gurus but know enough to get by.

yeah, the normal mode in the AS editor was junked. I suggest you let MM know that you didn't purchase MX04 because of that and they might stick it back in.

The more that complain, the more likely it'll be brought back.

wow! all that time I spent figuring out how to combine photoshop, aftereffects and flash.... down the drain...
In a sense, this will make it a tad bit too easy for wouldbe media developers to make impressive content... hense eliminating our jobs as website designers.
I honestly sense that all these improvements will cause as much harm as the benefits in developing web content.
