Making my first game

Hello!
In school we've got this multimedia project and I've chosen to create a game in flash. I've never done that before, so I would love to hear some tips of where to start!
I haven't decided what kind of game I want to do yet, because I really don't know which is hardest to make.
I've thought of a "fly-through-space" game or a supermario platform game. Would this be very hard for a not to experienced coder to do? Are there any other good tutorials than those one flashkit that could be useful?

it all depends on the game

a platformer can get involved, though something like whack-a-mole is quite easy.

Flashkit is a great place to start. Look at tutorials there and be sure to check out the games forum. Do a search for various things in the games forum there for like 'new game' or whatever to look at what others have done for their first game and stuff like that.
