I just had the worst f**king interview of my life and I'm pretty angry about it. The employment company contacted me last thing and asked if I wanted an interview for a role as a software engineer. Like an idiot I said yeah.....F**K :scream:

Questions asked I couldn't answer because my mind ran away and left me sitting in an uncomfortable suit and a new haircut humming and hawwing like a 8 year old boy trying to ask out a girl. Embarassed I couldn't answer the f**king questions I began to avoid eye contact which never goes down well in an interview and then to top it all the guy interviewing me knows my boss from my last job that made me redundant. ARRRRGHHHH!!! I can just picture the guy telling him I had an interview and him replying "Oh really Robert Bell, well it's no suprise he was a mess at the interview...he's a complete spoon" and you know what right now I agree

I have an interview tomorrow (a second interview) and this has got to go well or it's freelancing for ever and ever and I just can't take it anymore, I need a job. I'm sick of being home during the day and being able to tell my fiancee exactly what the cat did all day...I spend my days with the f**king cat...I need a full time permanent job

thought I had one at the Royal Bank of Scotland but after a great interview I didn't get it. What do I have to do to get a job :h:

Well if a great interview didn't work out with the bank then maybe a lousy interview will get you this job. :thumb:

no chance, they asked me, someone with a degree in software engineering and four years as a web developer, what the advantages of using Objects are and guess what I said?

Nothing...I couldn't think of the answer, my mind jumped out the window and didn't look back. The silence dragged for so long I eventually had to admit I couldn't think of anything.

I suck, I mean I'm usually great but right now, I suck :(

Just make sure you're prepared for your next interview with your 'blag' head on and a pocketful of bullsh*t. :thumb:

So what you don't work there any more so what do you care what they think. Thats all in the past. My last job they just kept me on underpaying me til finally I went for an Interview and got the job left them in a right pickle as I left right in the middle of their most busy period for like 4 years and I was the only one who knows the system. They keep ringing me up saying we need to know this that and the other. i just reply I dson't do that anymore

Awww Rab man don't take it so hard - hifi was just trying to make you crack a smile. Moods are sometimes hard to judge in a text and smiley based environment.

We've all had crappy interviews before - we've all blanked out before. I'm sure your interviewer has seen it a hundred times and probably done it his or herself. If they thought you weren't up to snuff then you wouldn't be having a 2nd interview. Plus, if you don't get this then there it wasn't meant to be and something else will come along.

buck up! not working means more time on the forums!

Just trying to lighten the mood is all. We all have bad days/weeks/months, the way I figure it, the longer your bad times are, the better your good times will be to make up for it (law of averages and all). Just don't let it get you down, as long as you keep believing in yourself nothing can hurt you. Except maybe a train. Best of luck (and enjoy your little vacation while it lasts) :)

Interviews Seriously are a pain in the arse.

I went to Best buy (i'll repeat that for further Notice of what i'm talking about)
BEST BUY for an interview. They sat me in a white room and started asking me 101 questions about my last job. It took them a half an hour to cover my first job and then another half hour of the job before that. I seirously Hated it. They asked me stupid questions like "and what was your Point of view every day when you got to work?" and "When was a time where you felt like you did somthing great" "when was a tiem you did somthign bad?" "when was a time when you felt you did somthing Mediorcre" "when was the time you took a crap?"

Not littealy the last one. but all this for a job as a Customer Service Rep/Computer Technician. Then this is what really pissed me off.

at the end. they told me i had to go though 4 more INterviews exactly like this one in order to get the job! i Seriously felt like hanging my interviewer.

I know exactly what you mean about your brain stopping. I think it mostly has to do with the fact they ask questions that you've never really thought about, like "what motivates you", "what's your weakest point" and you are trying so hard to think of something interllectual and clever that you cant think of anything.
Best thing to do is write everything down. Then go through it with a friend. Everybody has been to a crappy interview, so ask your friend to ask your questions that they might. Always look like you are interested in what the person is saying, and ask questions. Everybody like to talk about themselves, even interviewers. That's how I got my job. I kept asking about my bosses life and about animation. Also act like you already have the job. Talk like you are already part of the company.

Good Luck!
