About a month ago I had to reformat my harddrive, so I backed up all my iTunes songs on my iPod. After the reformatting, and a fresh install of iTunes, I plugged my iPod into my computer and iTunes told me: "The playlists do not match. Would you like to replace the other playlist?"

Well, since my iTunes playlist was empty, I thought it was going to replace my iTunes playlist with my iPod's... WRONG! It "replaced" my iTunes Music Library songs with my iPod's! (Mainly, it just deleted all my songs on my iPod!)

So I contacted apple and told them that their dialog box was way too vague, and did not include nearly enough information. It never said which library would be replaced! Finally they contacted me back saying "We will allow you to re-download your songs." So I did and I got them all back.

However, just yesterday I had to reformat my pc AGAIN! So I did, and I backed up all my songs to my iPod. After the reformat, I plugged in my iPod and iTunes popped up a dialog... "The playlist on your iPod does not match the iTunes Music Library. Would you like to replace the songs of your Library with those of your iPod?"

They changed it!!!

Thanks Apple!

(quotes are not word-for-word the same, but they say the same thing)

Yeah, now apple has done a couple of things right! 1) make an iPod 2) listen to their customers 3) ahhh.... wait scratch 3.

I am an apple hater, no offense, they are actually pretty good, I just grew up on a PC and the seem to have some more advanced features I need.

What advanced features do they have you need? I am just wondering.

I love Apple, they make great computers, well designed, they look great, and they never crash or screw up like PC's do. Iv used PCs since I was about 7, and been using Macs for just a few years, but I still think Macs are far superior.

iTunes + iPod, nothing beats it, wait, nothing comes even close to beating it.

I think Apple is just a style. Both PC and Macs have their advantages and disadvantages. You can learn to like one style or the other - just like innie and outie (bellybutton).

Yea, and about the advantages and disadvantages:

Windows
Pros
- 90% of people use them.
- They are cheaper.
- Easier to upgrade/customise.

Cons
- Last only a few years.
- Sometimes crash.
- Start to become sluggish after a year.
- Memory leaks on every Windows version except XP.
- Poor support.
- Microsofts site is ****.
- Bigger in size.
- Dont look too nice.
- **** loads of wires and stuff.
- Poorley designed, badly coded.
- Less practical for almost everything.
- View Video (http://www.kontraband.com/show/show.asp?ID=301&NEXTID=0&PREVID=385&DISPLAYORDER=20021016000001&CAT=movies&NSFW=)

Macs
Cons
- Can be quite expensive.
- Dont play many games.

Pros
- Run much faster than PCs, with smaller specs (for example, a 1.5ghz Mac will run sooooooo much faster than a 1.5ghz PC).
- Look **** nice.
- Very compact.
- Powerful OS thats easy to use.
- They never crash.
- Apple's site is 100 times better than Microsofts.
- Very compatible with PCs and other periperhals.
- You get alot of bundled software, such as iTunes, iMovie, iPhoto, iDVD
- Will last for years and years.
- Wont slow down after the first year.
- Designed very well.
- Better servers.
- More secure.
- Great wireless connectivity (using AirPort extreme and AirTunes).
- Can stream music to your stereo anywhere in your house wirelessly.
- Work better with iPods.
- Can run some of the best software (like Final Cut Pro).

Great story Mike! Apple has always been dedicated to their coustomers.

When you say they let your re-download your music - what did you mean?

Also guys - this thread has already started into a flame war in the making. This is the warning. I will close this thread if i have to.

Apple never let you download music again from the iTunes Music Store, not for any reason :beard:

I recommend Windows for things like games and are great for teens and average computer users. I recommend Macs for anything proffessional such as web programming, graphic design, or running a business. I would recommend Linux for advanced programming.

- Said by a Windows PC user.

They sent us (My mom and I) an emal and said to sign on and click "Check for Purchased Menu"

And it worked. Since I had a good excuse, as for it was clearly their fault for the vague dialog box, they let us redownload the music.

I defenitely disagree that Apple doesn't crash. We used G4's at college and I've never had as many crashes using apps such as Photoshop and Illustrator, it was really pissing me off. Perhaps the G5's are better but the G4 crashed lots of times. The PC I've got hasn't crashed once and I've had it for nearly a year.

i sit on a the new G5 at school all day and im going to have to say that my pc runs progs like photoshop better. Especially with huge PS files like 20megs +

G5 My :POS

Proc: Dual 2 gigz : athlon xp 2700
Ram : 1 gig (3200?) : 1 gig ddr 2700
video: standard one? : Onboard Gf4 (was pimp daddy when it came out lol)
Hard drive: dual 160's : 160gigs

i dont know it just seems that i paid what $1000 for my whole computer back when i made it and the school paid god knows how much and the only difference i can tell is the pimp daddy screen the mac comes with. oh ya and the cooler(temp) case. And for the compatibility and im going to have to disagree we ALLways get errors when printing, the mac sometimes cant read old CD's just little things here and there....but they add up
