Cutting a picture out and putting it on something else?

I want to put a picture of my friend on a flash movie, but when I cut it out it cuts an entire box around the face and screws up the whole thing because the box is not transparent. I hope you understand what I mean. I'm using Flash MX 2004 and I always have photoshop 7.0. If you need any more information or have any questions just ask. Thanks in advance.

use the extract tool in ps, or use the alpha channel method. there is also 2 plugins that I like for this as well. Mask Warrior and Knockout.

u can always cut out ur freinds head in photshop and save it as gif and import it in flash

yea I dont think he/she knows how to do it in PS.

I would just use the Lasso, cut, make a new doc, paste and save it as a gif.

Thanks, I just used the magnetic lasso tool and then saved it as a .gif, thanks for the help guys
