VIRuSES!

ARG! i keep getting these messages (like 4 a day) that have virsuses in them! Norton intercepts them, but they are still annoying! How can i make them stop coming?!

if you want to keep your av-program, one possibility i can think of would be to forward your mail through a free mail provider that offers a spam & virus filter. in europe the mail provider gmx is filters quite good, there might something equal in the states as well...

Check with your email administrator (probably your ISP) and have them black list the address you are getting that message from.

Unplug your computer from the internet and format.

Get gmail. Also, search through any temp files and delete everything. Then run task manager and look for suspicious processes. Run a search on the filename of the aformentioed process then delete it if you can find it.

if you are talking about email messages, with virus files attached try blocking the sender of the virus (ie, the mail account). '

If it isnt coming in the mail and is already on your computer just to be on the safe side downlaod updates for every thing such as the AV, and your fire wall, adawre burn them to a cd, and as dreeft said format. then install all your updates before goingback online.

before you go blacklisting people cause you get a virus from them:

Many of the viruses that are floating around the web right now work with spoofing, meaning that they are sending from someones computer and grabbing someone elses emails to send from... so Kirupa has the virus and we're all in his address book. The virus goes out to all you and it looks like it came from me...

thnx guys, i'm talking about attachements with viruses.

I went and look for the sender... and the freaky thing is they are from strange non existant accounts on my domain ( like democrat@3dniravana.com ). Kinda creepy..... i'll do a virus scan tnoight :)

3dnirvanaThat is because headers can easily be forged. It could be someone who is sending them to you directly through a script or it could be that someone has a virus that is spoofing addies.
