A preliminary Flash sketch of a character for a computer game... He's meant to be a half demon fighting monk of some kind. Before you ask, the thing on the top of his head is a squid familiar. Seriously, just don't ask. :)

Personally I think he needs to be more demon-y... Any suggestions from you good people? :cyborg:

well it's kinda hard to say when we don't know the details of the game, but personally i think he looks really cool

the only thing that i can suggest is to change his face/expression.... maybe that could make him look a bit more evil or something? Of course, it does look ok at the moment, but looking at him i wouldn't immediately think 'half demon monk'

the purple bits on his skin also look a bit weird, but ok. At first i thought it was just a crappy shading job, as it seems to come from one side, as if he was lit from the right
i'm guessing it's meant to be some kind of marking? maybe you could get rid of some of the little bits... or even just place the tattoos in a completely different place (if that's what they are)

the squid is really funky =) .

Yeah, the marking is meant to be kind of like scales... Only not covering him completely as he's only half demon. I definitely like the idea of tattoos on him though. And making him more evil looking.

This is only therist drawing of him - he's got a bit of transforming to do before he reaches the finished product. :)

well if he's supposed to be a demon then I think he needs red eyes and an evil look and somthing...

I think if you made one eye more demon like then it would look cool. The one that is next to the purple scales you should make more forrowed, more like a dragon/demon eye would look. or maybe a scar on his face..

All good ideas fellas. :) Keep them coming. When I do the next version I'll try and get as much of this stuff in as possible.

I like the squid burrowed into his head though. Squids are cool. :)

Awesome character Kity =)

I liked the squid idea very cool, it could be bigger tho.

To make him more demon, maybe hoofs instead of feets, eye cats, claws and a pointed ear. maybe?

He's a good guy.

I'm not writing the story, it's being done by someone else, but the guy has come up with characters and asked me to draw them. This dud is a half demon monk, who is meant to be very honourable, only fighting those who are evil. :)

I like the idea of claws though, think that would look cool. :cool:

Wow for some reason he reminds me of Piccolo from DBZ, but that's cool cause DBZ is one of my favorite cartoons. =)

If anyone is interested, I will be looking for some able people to help with the project... Mainly I'll be looking for a sprite artist, and programmers, as well as anyone who is better than I am at 3-D movies.... I'll have a page set up soon for more info...

Hey thats pretty cool Kit,

I think his one pant leg should be ripped up, showing more of his demon features on that one side, maybe with a hoof like someone already said.

Glowing Eyes might be good... but drop the Hoves... I think he'd be better barefoot... seeing as how he's a wondering monk and all...:smirk:

They're sandals... I had to resist the urge to make him a hippie. :)

Glowing eyes is a good idea too. I'm going through pencils and paper like you wouldn't believe... :)

I'm not saying it needs changing... I like the pic very much But if you are deciding to cange it, then I think these are some things that culd change:

Glowing Eyes
Horns on Head
Bare Feet
Don't have Octopus Tenticles going into skull...
perhaps a pair of small bat-like wings... (very small, unusable)


Just something to think about :beam:
