here are some images of how i turned a sketch into an eye catching design.

This is my first sketch. I initally did the girl on regular paper then used tracing paper to outline what i wanted, i wanted to keep the drawing clean.

Then i made another design using a grid. nothing too fancy

then i imported the images in flash and traced the drawings using your standard tools. once i had done that i started to Color things. The reason why everything is starting to get colored blue is so that i can tell which parts needed to be enclosed correctly to get the fills to go in where i wanted.

Here i have colored the image in Flash. Added the gradient in photoshop and included tiny bits of text. Note: when I saved the image from flash i saved it as an EPS so i could scale it however i wanted in Photoshop.






-Remember that there is always more than one way to solve any given problem in Regards to Graphics. experiment different things and have FUN!. As far as design hints, Remember that the key to having a harmonious design is to balance things out through the use of Color or Shape selection. If your designs have too many curves, try to add some geometric polygons to balance it out. and remember to read up on the color wheel, it will save you a lot of headaches. Bye for now.

Dude science is the best.

And I am rusty on my hand drawing now too, been thinking about getting back into it though :)

wow, vts dazzling us again with your prowess!!!
the color wheel tip is good as well...bad colors make head hurt :(

Bah! You don't need a scanner! I don't have a scanner. As long as you have a Wacom. C:-)

I'm with Lost - I need a Wacom as well! :sure:

I'd love to be able to draw straight into my PC rather than muck around with pencils and biros (I have no idea why I love drawing in biro) and scanners... :)

lost you can find a decent scanner for cheap...and a wacom for around 60-70 bucks...just look around. i think sure shot has one too that is going for 65-70...or he did...

wow.. thats awsome man!

i just got my self a wacom tablet!
does it take a while to get used to? :/
It feels like the mouse is easier to draw :p

yeah me too :(, i have an unsteady hand and i like to turn the paper a lot so its really weird...but i am starting to get used to it....

wacom tablets are great for airbrushing and painting in photoshop.

its just that your use to the mouse, whats was the first thing u had when u started using a computer , a mouse and a keyboard.

if that was a pen and a keyboard. what do u think?

Its pretty logical because we use pens everyday to write something, so it wont take you too long to get use to it, its also ergonomically sound. RSI no more!!!
