$139! I have the MX700 and it cant be better. I think Logitech went over the tech line this time. Not many will buy it.

I don't think they mentioned its weight...is it any lighter than other cordless mice? I don't go for cordless mice because they're rather heavy.

Don't optical mice use lasers?

I'm not sure what it is, but that little red light down there isn't a laser. Lasers are pretty fragile, and I've dropped my mice millions of times.

I have a logitech cordless mouse/keyboard set (+3 years) and the mouse isn't much heavier than a regular mouse. The only real weight on this thing are the AAA batteries (2). But I mean, it's still really light. The difference is noticable but still so minute in relative and absolute terms that your stance is really somewhat unfounded.

On a seperate note, I don't have any optical mice because I've become quite attached to the ball mice. I might consider buying a laser mouse if I give it a try before hand.

my uncle manufactures optical mice, and the red thing is just an LED with a magnifying lens in front of it. the actual 'laser' is just a tiny little motion-sensor with a range of about 1cm. i mean, if it were a full-blown laser, it'd have one of those stickers on it...

I honestly can't stand the new "styles" of mice with the contours and more buttons than you need. I mean, this is my current mouse:

and that middle button (not the scroll wheel) still bothers me.
I'll get one of these laser mice if they designed it to look like that. Nothing bulky. Purely simple in design.

yea i cant really stand the new style either. the contours don't make it that much more comfortable, and come on, who needs such good grip for a mouse? i mean, if you can't hold a mouse properly you have some serious issues.
