Saint John's Wort - anyone used it before?

So I get home yesterday and because I won't go see a doctor my wife picks me up this over the counter herb thats supposed to relieve depression.

Anybody ever used it and had good results or is it just a placebo?

I know plenty of people who have taken and say that works great for their moods.
I am sure this wont effect you but a little FYI it can counter act the effects of birth control!
