View Full Version : Photoshop Fill Settings

I've been playing around with photoshop these past few days, but I'm now experiencing a problem with my Fill tool.
It used to be that when I used the marquee tool to select an area and filled it with colour, it did a straight plain fill, right up to the edge and that was it. Now it seems to be doing a gradual fade out to the marquee edge, instead of filling dead on. I'm not on gradient fill, before you ask. :)
My question is what have I done to make it do that? And question number two is how do I get it back?!?
Yeah, I know. Photoshop noob. Sue me, this is why I usually draw in Flash... :sigh:

Alright, panic over. I was being a dork and failed to notice the 'feather' option was set to 3px.
Curses. :scream:

The guy has got some great tutorials on his site. I've always wondered how to make stuff like that metallic interface, and now I know how!
I'm working my way through practically every PS site I can find, as well as the manual that I only opened for the first time today.
Lookee, I added some more! :beam:

Ill have to check out those tuts myself Well, this pic was done by following three tutorials and bunging them together. :) The URL is something like www.robouk.com. The guy is brilliant - shows you how to all kinds of funky things with Photoshop. He's got about 40 or so tutes. :)

its good your looking beyond the tutorials and actually learning, many new users are so excited at the tuts they simply follow step by step not knowing what is done and why....that goes for me sometimes 2 :(

I think that once you've done a couple of these kind of tutorials, you can see more how they work. Then you can start to figure out how to combine them, and eventually you get as good as Lost and Dan at this sort of thing. (-:
