Here in canada we gots them in the basement. :P

I have a laundry room, but some of us Americans have kitchens and family room not seperated by walls or doors, very open, I'll post some pictures soon. I have a kitchen island, those are the coolest, don't ask why, but we have those bar chairs and ok yea this has almost been one of my pointless posts. I will leave now!

mario fan, since you seem to have a wicked digital camera, you should do a 360* panorama thingabobber with it
..good programs that come to mind are ulead cool 360 or something like that..

i know a did who did it in Flash, he just took pictures all round then in PS brought them together then coded it so it was like the infinite menu. and it werked great.

March 27th, 2003, 04:01 PM
Those will work, but not as efficient as the programs that will do it for you, but of course I would rather do it in Flash than buy a program so I can do panoramas (sp?)

Cool, I'm going to muck around with my digital camera tonight, I think. :)
Why do British / Scottish people have there washing machine's in the kitchen? I was in Scotland 2 years ago, and all my relatives had those darn things.
Here in canada we gots them in the basement. Because English houses don't usually have basements!
Occasionally in big enough houses, we have a utility room for stuff like the washing machine, but otherwise it's just the kitchen. English builders don't really seem to go in for the whole basement / loft thing. Basements are non-existant and lofts are diabolical and about 3 feet high. :)
Mariofan - another northerner? Argh, isn't there anyone from down south? :) It's not a big country there has to be someone... :)

I just found "The Office" a few weeks back. BBC America is on cable, here, and plays changing rooms, ground force, so graham, etc. You have to pay extra for the package.
Rengirl: I found a guy selling his "schtuff" on the side of the hill, on the way back from brakfast out one day... I immediately picked it up and carried it home... an absolute steal... Funny, when I moved in here 3 years ago, I moved in from Hawaii, and had essentially no furniture at all (just a futon mattress). Now, if I bring something in the front door, something else has to go out the back window...
Tuknuk:
the cables used to be all nicely tied up, but since then I have moved/altered the system, so I haven't neatened it up again.
I'm surprised no one mentioned the Pavy... It's my one piece of a "professional" artist, Francis Xavier Pavy... my one treasure...

I can't stand any of the dramas... never have been able to stomach any of them. I do like Ground Force, Changing Rooms, House Invaders (admitedly because of Charlie and Anna), but no "soaps".

British Dramas and movies aren't exciting. It's always people sitting around the room, looking at each other:

- Where is he going?

I really enjoy "Are You Being Served" - a lot of US sitcoms were spinoffs from UK sitcoms. I think All In the Family was from a UK series, Who Wants to Be A Millionaire, and a few more which I can't think of right now =)
