has any one ever been to mt washington in New Hampshire? This place is amazing!!


Mount Washington, the highest peak in the northeastern U.S, attains an elevation of 6,288 feet above mean sea level, and is located at latitude 44° 16' N, longitude 71° 18' W. It's in Sargents Purchase in southern Coös County, New Hampshire, at the heart of the White Mountain National Forest. The 52-acre Mount Washington State Park surrounds the summit, where visitors will find a multitude of old and modern buildings, once known as the 'City Among the Clouds'.

i went there last summer and we drove 7 miles up to the top. the rodes are steep and they expext to cars to go by on the rode at the same time. when your driving up on the left side, there is a huge drop off and if you mess up driving, you will go down the mountian the hard way.

Yeah I hiked up it a few years ago - spend 4 days or so cabin hopping from one cabin to the next hitting mt washington about halfway through. At the time the summit was covered in fog (well it was encased ina cloud) so I didnt get to see anything from there, but at lower elevations there were some specatacular views. It really is a beautiful place.

i would love to go up on a atv.

it was a really good view . we planed on going down Tuckerman Ravine but it started to rain really hard. so we dicited to go back down. the visiblity was very low because the fog was rolling in.

nope never been. its about 2hrs from my house though. i see it when skiing a lot. its BIG! i will end up going prob soon like this summer or next...good pics though!

i would love to live in New Hampshire. there is so much to do. i went to indian head resort this summer. i really didnt the cabbins that we stayed in. while there we went on a wicked cool atv tour. then i went back to N/h and we where camping. i am not sure of the name but is close to a river with alot of rocks. when i get my lisence i plan to get a bunch of my friends and we can go camping for a week. :phil:
