Hey everyone, didnt know where to put this so it's here....

Im doing this Series of 3 Ads for my Graphic Design Applications Course (Quark Xpress).

The topics were open, so naturally with me being a huge Hockey fan, I chose CCM Hockey Equipment.

I wanted to base my entire ad series on the heritage/history of CCM. They've been around for over 100 years so I feel it'd be a good idea.

Also I just felt to stray from photos since I can't professionally photograph any equipment. So I'm basing the ad on typography.

Anyway, here is the 1st ad.

Before I continue with it, I'd like to hear suggestions, comments, praise ect.

please be honest, I really would like for this project to mop the floor with the other student's work.

I like it :thumb:

Just one thing and it is a small thing, I'd drop the word we're from the smaller sentence. I just think "and still counting" is better.

i agree with rab, like it a lot, only drop the "we're" and it's :thumb:

looks awesome, just a couple of really small things. the centering between the ccm logo and the net is slightly off and there's a tiny white space below the ccm logo.

I'd make the "And still counting" just a tad bigger and maybe change the alpha on the ice hockey image just to make it a little more prominent.

It still looks good though :thumb:

you mean the opacity ;)

I can tell you guys are all flash-heads when you replace opacity with alpha :)

I actually think I preferred the "And we're still counting" phrase. It has a more of an in your face, don't mess with us kind of feel.

yeah, "and we're" felt a little more personal, which i liked.

I agree, I had showed it to my boss and he suggested that it sounded a tad "weak".

I'm considering putting it back to "And We're Still Counting"

I feel it looked and sounded much better.


Do you guys like the grunge effect I added to the typography up top????
