I am currently in a battle at BBForum against bodyvisual. He is also registered here. I finally leanred layer masking and would like to show you the pic I made by using these new found skills.

Can I do anything different to apply the masking better?

you guys don't know how to do layer masks in photoshop? Hmm I always thought it was somewhat basic.

can u explain what the mask is in your pic. I mean i just use it with the gradient tool... Thanks Mike

I used a gradient mask, a pattern mask and a color mask. All of them set at overlay mode.
