bad problem in PS, is there a way to copy or save layers?

Ok here is the thing. I accidently deleted a layer and didn't realize it. Then i did some work and then realized what i had done. I havent save yet so i could just exit out and not save, but then the layer i was working on would be gone and i really dont want that. Is there a way that i can save the layer or transport it to a different PS project so i can then put it back into the restored file? Thanks

why dont you just save as a second version like mywork2.psd, then use that previoulsy saved one to add the things you deleted.

: so save the current document as part2 then open up the previous file and drag the stuff you want in the new file.

or if your history state is big enough (ie you can still go back to when that layer was there;) save your current work in a new file, go back to that history state where you had the layer, save a new psd there - and you should have both...
