Overdose

This is a graphic I did in Photoshop. It is sort of an experiment in Pixel Art.... although the creation of it is nothing but cheap hacks and work arounds to make things quicker for myself while still achieving a pixel art look.

But the outcome came out how I wanted, so that's all that matters to me

Anywho, here is the final result if you're interested....

Note: This was kind of inspired because I noticed a few pixel art threads being created lately. Perhaps kF will go through another pixel art craze?

I think this type of art, pixelly-sorta-abstract, is a lost art. (get it? lost....art.....) anyway....:sure:

I love this piece! (but you already knew that). I am so glad you kept the coloring to a minimum and the use of space is done well. The title overdose makes me think of the words "strung out" so this is what I feel looking at it. Nice work sir! :thumb:

And yeah, i'm not so sure "strung out" was the idea I was going for though. It's supposed to be more of an intentional overdose suicide message.

Which now that I think about it, explains why it scared a bunch of my friends.

ok, sorry i missed the message there. I don't generally think about suicide in any regard very often, so I was just taking the "getting high" definition. Now that you clarified a bit, i can see the blood spatters (which i don't know what i thought it was before) and it makes more sense.

Doesn't matter, i still love it. even if you are dark and twisted :bad:

@UNFLUX: Meh, don't worry about it.... i'll work on my "visual narrating" skills a bit more ;)

@gr8jay: I finished doing it right before I posted it, and I planned on doing it earlier the same day when I found a picture of a disassembled pill (and I chose to do it pixel style because pixel art seems to be making a comeback here at kF). The rest just kind of flowed as I went.

Nice Lost!

I'm having a bit of a creative obalisk (not big enough to be considered a block) right now, because I'm being stifled by clients. I'm stuck doing cheese, when I'd much rather be doing almost anything else. But hey, they pay well. :D

How long did it take, if I may ask? Looks tedious as heck.

Rofl, creative obalisk... that's great (well not that you have one, just the phrase itself)

This took me roughtly 2 hours to make. As my first post states, the creation of this piece is filled with cheap hacks and workarounds to get a pixel look while making it quicker on myself. I didn't actually do most this dot by dot (though parts of it I did).

Hint: Gotta love brightness/contrast settings an the Sharpen More filter.
