Do you guys know of a quick and easy way to get rid of a boot sector virus (a friend of mine is infected)? With all my virus experience, I have never encountered a boot sector virus.

Housecall reports the virus as "HAVOCAMSE-A.B"
Also I removed a BAGLE.N virus from his machine by using stinger.

Thanks.

Ouch, boot sector. Your best bet is to plug the HD into another comp and run diagnostics on it from that other comp. My MBR was damaged recently as well (hint: don't reset when quick switching users in WinXP), and I had to do it that way. I could rescue the most important data from it using the other comp and a specialised program, and when all the data was secured I rewrote the Master Boot Record. Risky, but it worked.

when i got the new sasser worm, my mom restarted the comp in the last configuration that worked and there was nothing wrong with it. Then i just dled the removal thing.
