I recently figuired out how to mask object but I want to be able to move the object without moving its mask. Whenever I use the 'Position' option it moves both its mask and itself. Does anyone know how to make it so only the object being maks moves and not both the mask and the object.

ahh I accidently didn't save... could u tell me just a couple of steps on how to create a mask for a layer and animate the layer (without animating the mask)? Thanks

dunno but here's another option -
remove your mask (or keep the shape somehow)
make a new solid layer above the layer you want to mask
select transfer mode of solid layer to 'Stencil Alpha'

job's done (you can eventually add a mask to your solid layer for more shapes =) )

O and i forgot to ask...

Being that u are a PS/AE/Flash/etc. guru, why did u make ur site have minimal graphics... were you going for the clean, simple, designer kinda feel or is that just a temporary site. . I mean you have all of those skills so i was wondering why you dont show them off on your site. THanks

what version of AE are u using? cos I think AE6 has a diffrent masking system to previous editions.
