simple simple simple! i made a cylender in the front view. then went back to perspective and made sure it was the way i wanted it (note these are the gold tubes). I then added a bend modifier. cloned the first tube then rotated the clone and placed it in the right hand side. i then went and made a crystal (great tut i took a while back found here (http://www.voidix.com)). after making the crystal i added a bit of noise and zoomed in. that easy!

edit: for the colors: I added two standerd Max 5 materials, Reflection_Lake_Gold and Reflection_Lake, for both these i then went to opacity and checked the box next to it. then i clicked the tab that said 'none' and changed that to 'Fall off'.

dunno about 'hyperspeed' mike, personally i don't think it looks like it's moving much - maybe you wanted to do that in PS? (or maybe not!)

dunno about a name, but i think it looks really cool, even though it's not moving :P

keep it up!

Stuart

and i don't think you should do too much in PS, coz it looks nicely balanced as it is
