Actually. this pic is VERY simple.

here is how you guys do it.

Start by creating a new platonic. Edit i so its a c60-buckyball. while it is selected, press the "c" key to make it editable.


now that it´s editable, we will be using the matrix extrude.

Structure>Edit surface>matrix extrude .

use the default setings, for the matrix extrude.

now we have to crumple the platonic.

Structure>edit surface>crumple

use thesse settings http://www.klan-ip.amok.dk/Glas_billede1.jpg

and woila you have objekt like mine C:-)

Guigo...yes but i heard its a helcker to learn. i think any proggi of this manner is though. i am just learning MAX 5 now and like it, but its HARD! if you buy a 3d proggi be sure to have a lot of paticence and a lot of hair (you willl pull most of it out)

Love it! soo cool! just get rid of the lense flare, its not needed, and widen it out so that we can see more of the end, then we can use it as a wall paper :P :bad:

what is your method ?

I start of with a primtive sphere, maxtrix extrude it, make it editable, switch to a different view and manually warp the object myself to form whatever I want Next I apply one of my glass textures and that's it. Here is something I did awhile back using that method.

Syko: I have max too and feel your pain, but from what i know/hear MAX and Maya are both hard to learn, but are also both the best of the best. once you start to learn MAX (the help files are amazing :!:) you will be so happy and feel so good. just open it up and take those tuts...the best way to learn...

You guys, just stick with what you have already since you're use to it, don't go hoping over to another program just cause you see someone do something cool with it. I see a lot of nice stuff done in 3dmax, but I don't switch over because of that. I stick to what I'm use to.

exactly, i saw all this cool stuff done in Maya and i was like SO close to switching, so i worked with a trail and found that i didnt want to learn another proggi all over agian, when i can do the same thing on the one i have and easyer, just for one effect, it was a mental idea...i have a friend with Maya and he loves to hate it...like he wants to learn it so let him....just stick with what you know...

Completed all the tutorials in the help file a year ago or so...!
