maybe - but emboss is a filter too. so we're both right :P ;)you might be both wrong, might of created that using lighting effects and a custom channel within lighting effects.

Ok first off..., everyone here started out at some point, I'm gonna be honest, and say that most of my first attempts consisted of some screen wide gradients and some lines, I think that to take a letter, and apply some either lighting effects, or layer styles, is definately a good practise to start to get the feel of Photoshop, and it shows that he is actually trying to explore Photoshop, by playing with either filters or layer styles. I think it's a good start for someone fresh to Photoshop, and I would like to see how his work progresses, I am also kind of disappointed in the sarcasm and lack of support that this thread shows for newcomers to Photoshop, you never know, this person could grasp Photoshop really well, then you'll be kissing his *** as you're working off the tutorials he might write, and don't say it doesn't ever happen lol, cause it does. And ya, I know you were all bein sarcastic, but still..., I don't think it was very mature of any of ya. Good job, and keep at it drawven. :)
