help, .art files?

Hey, I have a question about .art files...
On my moms laptop, for some reason she can't save a picture from the web as anything but a .art file, and after she saves them, she can't view them, Why can't she save them as .jpg or .gif? i thought those where the deffault file types?

Check your browser. The last I saw of mentioning of ART was in a Netscape installation. I'm not sure, it either has to do with a Mac or AOL.

its an AOL image file.

Yep, the .art file type was created by AOL... it's a horrible file type to boot (coincidence?). A lot of times AOL users will end up getting images in this format.

Does she use AOL?

yes, she uses aol, is there a way to disable it?

Use IE or Firefox?

even using the IE browser, she still only has the option to save as .art
