Are you exporting the sound from AE?
If so dont.. cuz AE screws up with sound.. instead animate to your sound, but then export a vid without sound and combine the vid with the sound in another program (flash, premiere, windows movie maker, that free mac film thingy)..
I'm afraid thats all the help i can give, i havent used AE in months!
Oh actually, if the sound is playing fast, make sure that its not being played at the wrong sample rate! That would speed it up - if your audio is at 44.1kHz and is played back at 48kHz then it sounds sped up..

is the sound your animating to seperate or have you used the audio track that came with the video?
You can tell your output sample rate when you add your anim to the render queue. Click on output module - 'lossless' by default, then at the bottom theres audio output, set that the same as your audio file and it should be ok..
if your sound is already attached to the video that your using, you'll have to search for a program that'll let you extract the audio seperately, and combine in another program.
pain in the arse ay.. if adobe had just put more thought into using audio with after affects it would have been much better..

if possible use premier. seperates video and audio clip, one of the reasons why adobe didnt put that feature in ae. Ae is more compositing of effects but can be used as final composition. while premier / final cut pro is used for final compositions.
