No online play....What do you think CS V1.6 is?

I think CS single player doing missions is going to be cool ****, I'm buying it!

Shouldn't this be in the computer and games forum?
Oh well, 1.6 is alright, but I've been playing that game for about 3 years and I kind of felt like playing Day Of Defeat...
I think its way more fun.

Indeed it should.

i like it alot......there are four difficulty settings.....easy, normal, hard, and expert (i forget the last one but expert sounds good).....under each difficulty are 6 stages and 3 levels under each stage.......the bots as you go through the game become smarter and more cooperative (they react to your radio calls)........theres is also an interactive tutorial for the single player but i havent tried it...

there are new maps and many of the same maps from cs but they are more detailed than just having a bunch of boxes.......all the same weapons and same scenarios as cs.

if you get it through steam u will have to download it off of it which may take a bit depending on your connection.....You can also opt to download hidden scenes but i havent.......if you buy it in a box, the hidden scenes come on the cd and also a half life 2 preview disc is included......

overall i very much enjoy the game including the single player which adds to the fun. if you enjoyed cs i would recommend buying cs:cz to mainly play the first player mode, but if you beat the single player, it will just be like the cs

hope this helps at all....im just a player.

peace,
crewman

So is the single player missions or just like the CS multiplayer, but with bots?

If it is like the version on XBOX where it is the same as the original PC version, but on a console with bots and optional multiplayer then I might as well not buy it. I was hoping it was missions, sort of like Rainbow Six type of missions, instead of the "plant/diffuse a bomb" or "take/hold hostage" situations like the already known online multiplayer style.

there are the same missions (diffuse/escort/rescue) but there are challenges under each one that get harder. i.e. kill 9 enemies, 3 using a magnum sniper......complete level in under 60 seconds.....rescue 4 hostages.....just to name some

That's depressing, I was looking forward to buying this. I already have the 3 month old Xbox counter-strike game, which has single player that is really just the multiplayer, but with bots instead. So all they do is add in sub missions like "rush in 60 second and get a cookie". Sounds fun, but why waste $39.99 when I can play the online version with a bot add in modification.

CS CZ is basically regular cs with a few new maps and crap single player, a lot of the half life fans (including myself) will tell you not to waste your money.

CS2 though (if there is one , which i bet there is) based off the half life 2 engine , wait for that that will be something to look foward too

Hey matrix,
do you play Counter-strike still?
I used to play that a lot, and man oh man, CZ is nothin compared to CS.
