Or where can I get these symbols? Either for illustrator or photoshop.
http://www.hansliebschercopperwks.com/flashpage.htm
the nice ornamental designs in the corners. Let me know if you dont know what I am referring too.
I know they did not draw those themselves. The have to be available as symbols or brushes or something. If someone knows where I can get symbols like these please let me know.
BTW this is a 2a production

someone has asked a similar thing before i think... but i wouldn't know what to search for.
This sort of pattern *could* actually be drawn - if you think about it, somebody had to do it. You could always get some pictures of similar patterns and just trace one, or design your own?

I have a lot of grunge brushes that have those kind of old style curvey designs on them
Try searching for.. uhh.. geeze... I think it's something along the lines of refice curvey or something wierd like that?
Anyway, I know they have brushes like that. Squidfingers.com might have something along those lines too as far as patterns go.

once it's really scaled down, it looks kindof close to what your looking for. i searched for floral fabrics in case you were interested.
edit: and www.cirratus.org has some brushes that might come close

I'm just curious, why don't u think they just drew it? I mean thats all they do and they are, argueable, the best in the world... it would be tremedously tedious though...
It reminds me of tdcollins.com , you might want to ask him...
DDD
March 14th, 2004, 12:40 AM
thats why I also asked how is it done, but I highly doubt they drew it. Because it is very tedious and I am pretty good with Ill and I gave up. I just think it is a set up brushes or a symbol library out there that has these images. I have searched but no luck. Actually the brush master Sintax321 probably has a brush or 2 with these symbols

i can't think of its but do you know those colums of the old days (they had several styles), i think they were Roman or something... I am trying to think of the names.
EDIT: I found the styles. They are Doric, Ionic and Corinthian... I don't know which one is the exact same thing but I;m pretty sure it is considered one of those styles... You might want to search for brushes with the styles... Just trying to think of something

thanks....I could never think of the formal names for this style. I guess that is why I could not effectively search, actually this is the first time I found an example to shw you guys....
thanks

DDD, i have been looking for the exact same kind of designs for a long time. I'm thinking the best bet would be to get some books at the library that have these kind of designs and scan them. Let me know if you find any brushes or sites that have these designs for download. Thanks!

What about going to an art store somewhere, and getting some stamps/templates/or whatever, and put the design on a sheet of paper, and scan it?
I've seen that kind of curly, twirly design before...

DDD,
They're called "flourishes", in case you're still looking for the formal name. Freehand's older clipart libraries came with a small selection of them, and it's not too tough to create them by hand, once you know your way around the bezier pen tool. The samples you got are great, though - good luck with them.

thanks plasmic
The first time I posted this question I was like..."hey ya'll you know how to make those swirly things? You know those swishy swooshy things?" Because I did not even know how to describe it nor the formal name, but that new 2a site hade the exact style I was looking for. So I had a sample this time.
Thanks
ya'll......I know others needed these 2 but were too afraid to ask for :trout:

I just wanted to let everyone know that DDDs question about this has loooooooooooooooong been resolved, like 8 months resolved.
Someone just dug it up from the grave tryin to get an answer to a question he had posted just recently.
The links and resources that were brought up here cause it's cross referencing the same exact information that was asked in a newer post.
