I feel like a million bucks.
After much doubts over two days, I finally asked the lady that I love to the prom. She said yes!
:beam:
Now...time to Google 'how to dance'.

The actual "prom" isn't the best thing about prom. It's the hotel party afterward, then you kick everyone out of the room and start to "dance" again! ;)
I've been to 2 proms already, this year I am a freshman in college, but my girl is still a senior in High School so I will going with her. Now the problem is I have to pay all the limo and hotel fees again, last time I was fined from the limo company because some stupid chick we were coupling with stole some wine glasses in the limo. That cheap skank!
It will be fun, take pictures, I usually forget. Don't drink too much before because they can give you a breathalyzer at the door.
Maxtr0sity
March 12th, 2004, 04:35 PM
'Lead'...another dance vocab that I do not know. Any suggestions on transportation? I REALLY don't want to rent a limo or even get my parents to drive (Licence on June 6th).
Maxtr0sity
March 12th, 2004, 04:38 PM
Yeah, it's usually what comes after the main even that is the fun. If I were to drink, it'd be only a couple of shots. What is a prom without alcohol.
thoriphes
March 12th, 2004, 04:38 PM
You could always go in a group like I did. You guys can either split the cost for a limo or someone could drive you all.
Maxtr0sity
March 12th, 2004, 04:41 PM
That is the best idea I've heard. Why didn't I think of that?
How much is it for a limo? I hear they're cheap bastards because they drive you there, wait for you to come out, and charge the waiting time.
thoriphes
March 12th, 2004, 04:46 PM
Our limo driver charged us $400 so we split it up 3 ways (quite odd, though). he also waited for us.
Just remember: whatever you do, don't let her pay for anything. she may pay you back at a later date ;)
(no pun intended)
Maxtr0sity
March 12th, 2004, 04:53 PM
How many couples can a limo cramp? 3?
Of course she'll pay me back later. ;)
thoriphes
March 12th, 2004, 04:55 PM
does it matter?
The chances of a quick pre-game lap dance increases as the number of couples goes to infinity ;)
but seriously, i've seen maybe up to 5 couples in a single normal sized limo.
El_Thierro
March 12th, 2004, 05:26 PM
Cram as much as you can in there and go for the lapdancingthing ;)
Maxtr0sity

5!? Jesus, that's ten people in a limo!
Lets just say we do lapdancing seating pattern, wouldn't it be over cramped?

The things us Brits miss out on... We never had anything like that. Until you got to University when there was teh Freshers Ball and the Summer Ball. I went to one, but it was terrible, so I didn't go anytime after that.
But at school... Nope, not a thing. I think when my friends and I left school at 18 we went down the pub for a pint and a game of pool. No fancy dresses or limos involved there... *sigh*

Ouch. You have to realize that the prom is pretty bad, because the majority of the time, you walk around, take pictures, stand in lines, and maybe dance for half of an hour. It's the afterparty that will be the night to remember.

That is the problem with most Proms, you don't remember anything about it the next day, well I guess I usually don't even leave the hotel until late the next afternoon. So I guess 2 days later you can barely remember who you got with, what you did, did you use protection, or if you laid your friends date instead of yours on accident.

I rarely drink at all.. I'll have an ocasional Woodchuck, or Pina Coloda, but that's it. I've never, ever been drunk - even when my wife slipped about a half-bottle of Bacardi's into the Coke I was drinking one night...

Well, I've never been drunk either (I'm 17), and I've chosen not to get drunk. I mean, what's the fun in drinking a whole lot, then getting drunk and having to throw up, and not remember what you did the next day?
Me and my friends just have this magic way of drinking a lil' bit, and then ending up in a drunk-like state where we can just have tons of fun without actually being really drunk, so without all the negative aspects of being drunk and also being able to remember all the dumb things we did later on :beam:

Yeah, when I was 17 ~ 20 my friends and I were always in that state... only we didn't need the booze.... once we decided to have a Ho-Ho eating contest, and a Milk Drinking contest on the same night.
I think my friend's stairs are still stained with mess that can't be cleaned.... :sure:

I don't drink that often, only if I go out. And then not all the time. But sometimes it's nice to have the odd bit of alcohol. Though I'm pleased to say I've never been drunk enough to do anything stupid or that I regret. :) Well, apart from that time at a club in Maidstone where apparently I danced on a table, but I don't believe my friends for a second about that. :P

I'm Irish. It (apparently) takes a lot to get me drunk.
ON halloween one year, my wife and I went to a party. It wasn't until I was finishing off the 3rd platter, that I found out that they were Jello shots... plus, I drank about a 8 Woodchucks that night. Other than the super buzz I had, I was fully coherent, and never had a smidgen of a headache at all the next day, In fact, I was up early that morning working on a website. My Wife, who was incapacitated for about 15 hours thought I was insane.
