I've created a image which looks as if its a "rip" so to speak in the universe... What I'm wanting to do is mask it to give it the effect of an expanding rip or what have you. From within the rip I want to create a 3d image that grows larger gving a perception of motion.

Question:

Importing 2d photoshop files in Maya? Possible?
Also, are there available plugins for this software piece to add a touch of user friendliness?

Thanks for the replies guys/ladies.

Import it into your material library folder.....then you can apply it to the surface of your object.....Just like using textures.
