Ok, well I posted a thread a while ago about the 15 year old who killed a mother in front of her 3 kids and husband by throwing a 20lb chunk of ice off an overpass through their windshield.

Now I am going to share some gun violence from around my area.

1) Thursday, January 2, 2003: Two teenagers were shot in the student parking lot at my old high school (glad I graduated last year). They were students of the school, but they were there for some reason. It is suspected that it was a drug transaction gone bad. Both kids were in critical condition at the hospital. I have no clue on the follow up on that. I can't find an article online for it either, it was just on the local news.

2) Saturday, January 18, 2003 (today): At the Super Fresh Food Market in my area, (across the street from my best friend, a few blocks from my girlfriend, and 3 miles from me) a 33 year old woman was shot 4 times in the chest by her ex boyfriend. He then drove away and was later found in a burning car with a gunshot wound in the head. The gun was laying beside him.

And Phil: I am anti-violence, but when it comes to needing it to live, I am all for it. I just have to get a gun license ;)

Sounds like something from TV....lol. Is that true? I really never considered canada a dangerous place.

As for 3 miles away, sure it isn't close to me, but people close to me live right there, and can see the store from their house. And 2 of my sisters showed up there less than a minute after it happened. I would hate to think what might have happened had my sister not forgot her sunglasses and had to come back inside before they left.

The law ;)

If I have to shoot someone to save my life, I am not going to jail for using an illegal gun.

As for my country sucking. Yes, it can, depending where you live.

I love the suburbs... it is great there.

I blame it on rap.

I mean, where I live now, its mostly country listening red-necks. The most you get out of these guys (if that, they're pretty tame) is a drunken fist-fight. Get back to where I used to live, a little below baltimore and you have a whole new crowd. Tough mo-fos and they are cocky-*** posers who listen to rap... ptshaw.

The sniper shootings were around here too, only a couple of miles (if that) from where I work. I bet they listened to rap.

... and if not rap then its video games...
... and if not video games then TV...
... and if not TV games then its all the sex...
... and if not that, then its where they all merge - THE INTERNET...

... yeah maybe drugs fit in there somewhere too

Aislin

Mak: Maybe I should specify, sometimes I get into old school rap, but I hate gangsta rap. It is all about the same thing... cash money and hoes... frankly, I could give a damn.

no aislin ur mistaken with hiphop.....i don't listen to that crap
the only person who did sex, money, drugs good IMHO was Biggie and all them people now copy him....its such bull**** what they claim rap is, you have to listen to underground **** to get real rap

good idea sen, lets blame RAP!!! and TV!!! and internet!! and drugs!! but not the parents or society......whatever =) ur so clever

off topic: anyone seen Bowling for Columbine?

wow - there is a lot of violence in the world

I feel very luck to live in Ontario Canada. I mean everywhere there is violence but around here it's nothing compared to You Lost or you Mak...

And as for Rap music - I love it. i think it's great.

I agree that the "money, hoes, bling bling, crystal" crap is over done and terrible... but Mak is right - when biggie would do it, it was amazing. I think it was his rhyme style. That's why I am a fan of Em and Tupac and 50 Cent, Jay Z, Nas and Method man - all have great Style - IMHO
