Just a quick question!

I am new to these boards, as well as Flash MX. I was just wondering, what is the difference between Flash MX and Flash 5.0? I am hoping one of you can tell me the difference, and which one you would rather prefer having. Thanks.

i am not really good at flash yet. i am still a newbie at it. but i bet some one else has the answer to your question.

Flash 5 is the older version MX is the newer one (its Flash 6 with funky-cool nonsensical two capital-character suffix phil beat me to it haha).

Flash MX is "better". Why?:
- its newer
- it does more (in terms of manual animations and scripting)
- you can use it to make and publish flash 5 files
- 'better' (arguable) interface
- scripting hints, auto indent, auto format, etc etc
- faster
- other stuff I cant think of

Why you would use Flash 5:
- you havent bought MX or you are too poor to.


... as I mentioned above, MX can make (and read) flash 5 files, so really, theres no reason to ever use flash 5 again once you have MX since it can produce both versions of those Flash files.
