This might be a dumb question but its been a thorn in my side for a while now.

Often times I want a single pixel border on my imagery. No big thing. But this always happens.....

So I have all my layers flattened and the whole image selected then i go select -> modify -> border -> 1px

Should be simply 1 pixel, but when I add my color for the border it fills in that one pixel at 100% of the color and then grabs the next pixel at about 25% of the color I am trying to use for the border.

This makes the 1 px border look fuzzy and laim  because its essentially a gradient via 2 pixels.

So I either have to edit out the second pixel or simply try my steadiness of zooming in and adding the 1 pixel manually with the pencil tool.

Please can someone tell me what I have to change to simplify my process here. I know I am missing something.

Thanks in advance.

I do one pixel borders by selecting the entire picture and then going edit>>stroke>> 1 px (inside)
and that does it real nice and purdy

do as you did and then play with the threshold option to actually remove the 25% color
