Well I’ve been lurking around here for a bit now. Mainly in the Tuts area. Thought it was about time I gave back to this community in some way [Not sure how just yet?].

I usually go by the name Kel but someone beat
me 2 it this time.;(

yeah it'd be boring without the flash footers! To add a flash footer go to kirupaforum.com and in the upper right corner of the screen under the welcome-messages click "[ learn how to add a flash footer ]" <--- or sth like that!

Errrr now I’m confused…

All I meant was that some of the other forums I belong to usually have some sort of get together for locals / people willing to travel. That’s all.

Hey that sounds like a good idea, a Kirupa get together. The problem with that is the fact that everyone here is spread out around the world so it would be difficult.

Yeah that’s the same with all the other forums I frequent.

We can arrange one for the LA area and anyone willing to travel or that lives here anyway can come.

Someone else might want to set one up in say Canada.

yeah i was thinking of that too. but i want to travel the globe anyway, and so does my mom, so i was thinking that if i ever did in the near future i would make stops in all (most) of the cities or near by cities and we could all meet, and i would tape it then bring it into my comp and post each leg...i think that would be cool

And ironically, spambots love the board too as Rev posted. We once saw a spam bot scanning this board for like a week straight (or more)!!!

It spends like an hour in a thread before moving on to another one and spending an hour in there....lol.

It comes in as guest and just goes through threads, and it sometimes says e-mailing member, and stuff like that.


Kirupa tried to ban the IPs (there were two doing the same thing), I don't think it worked though.

No, it isn't a person, it is a bot. Like a program that runs from a computer that searches for e-mail addresses. Much like the spiders that search engines use to find sites.
