I was lucky. In my home town, there were maybe 30 kids around my age. Of them I knew 4 Tims. So there were 4 less people to pick on that name. Also, there isn't a lot of funny things that rhyme with Tim that is really that bad (Slim Tim, Tiny Tim, Grim Tim)...

Plus, we had lots of other weird names to play with (most people were from the deep south), and just basically picked on other things (we were still pretty cruel as I remember).

Small towns are great to grow up in and leave...
