The GameCube Linux project ( http://www.gc-linux.org/ ) got a gamecube to run a webserver in GameCube Linux Alpha.

You can see a screenshot here:

hmm

They have put linux on other boxes (Xbox, Playstation, Dreamcast, ect)

My only question is, what are they going to do with it? Right now it just seems like a neat parlor trick.

There are all kinds of crazy things that you can do with the dreamcast. My brother has some kind of setup where he can play nintendo games on his dreamcast.

Sorry, I don't have a link for the linux on dreamcast thing.

That is the primary point, to show you can. Whether or not you apply it and how is up to you.

Gamecube has a PowerPC Processor, and it can run Linux...

You guys ever heard of the OSXonLinux project?

Would run extra sucky, but would still be cool

Cool stuff all that,

I haven't got a gamecube so I can't try it myself but maybe I'll try it on my PS2 once...

Just wondering: You can put your console back in the original state can't ya? How do you do that? Does your console have some sort of discs with the console operating system?

Greetz,
