Hello all,
I've been working on this site for a while now and I've finally come up with a layout I'm happy with. :ne: Problem is I can't figure out how to make this effect look cool. :hair:
Have a look at http://utripn.com/mastertrip6.html I'm sure you'll know what I'm trying to do.
I want my beam to look more realistic and I don't know how to go about it accomplishing it. Note: everytime you push the button a new angle of the car is supposed to appear (I know how to do that I just don't know about the beam effect.)
If you have any other ideas besides using a beam tell me I'd love to hear 'em.
O yea, PUSH THE GREEN BUTTON
Thanks :)

I'd try making the beam more transparent and also I'd use something other than the obvious gradient, it looks a bit fake that way

just make the beam in photoshop. say have two beam images, one as the circular on the ground, use some feathering to give it that glowing look and some opacity to blend in the background , then have another beam that has some vertical length to it, say like stretch it up to give it that blur movement look , then play with eath element in flash and tween them to blend together.

Thanks for the tips Soulty, I was afraid to create the beam in photoshop 'cause it would be rather large and I'm always concerned with file size.
Btw I've added a pixelated effect as Phil Jayhem suggested and I'll work on the beam. Check it out and let me know what you think http://utripn.com/mastertrip6.html
P.S. You have the best footer I've seen here on Kirupa! (Soulty)

the file size wont be too large since you dont see the effect for that long, its blured anyway.
The pixel effect is nice, but on its own i think it wont suffice.
edit::: what i meant about not seeing that effect too long is that you can a really low jpg quality format.

Try giving the blue oval a nice feathered edge, I think it jumps in a bit harshly so the softer edge should help :)
