Ya there was a DVD copy of Fellowship the same week it premered in theaters. This happens with every movie and if you search ahrd enough you can find the DVD quality version.

I find it much easier to find the DivX version. I know of a couple places to find them, but the moderators will probably get mad at me or sumthing for posting the url's.

I have the screener of the Twin Towers. Its the film that was sent to the American Movie Awards people to create the clips you see when the Twin Towers wins something so its very high quality. I don't feel bad about having it for free though since I saw it in theaters and i'm gonna buy the real dvd.

Yah I agree Nali - I will buy it when it comes out on DVD, and i have payed to see it in the theatres, I just dont want to have to pay like 12 dollars everytime I want to see it from now till it comes out on DVD.
With it being Oscar time all the movies that were really big last year in the second half will have either VHS screeners or DVD screeners available for people to see and these get leaked. That's how it get's on the net. This is a big time of year for DVD Screeners.

Ya I had the DVD rip copy of Fellowship. I had already payed $12 for the advanced screeing and went and saw it 2 more times in theater. Then I got the screener. Once it came out on DVD I bought a copy and I got another Special edition set at X-mass. I don't feel bad because I think I spent around $100 so far.

I can't wait to see DVD sales for the Two Towers win it first comes out. Last year many people got ticked cause they bought it when it came out then a few weeks later they come out with bonus footage and then come out with the tickets one.

Phil, have you read the books?
The movies are great but the books are sooooooo much better.
I´ve read almost all tolkien´s books, LoTR four times! I read it every two years.
I just cant find the other books here in Brazil, The Lays of Beleriand, The Lost Road and Other Writings and Tales from Perilous Realm. Can´t find them neither on ebay :( only in amazon but they´re charging me $24.50 for shipment when it should be $10.00 tops.

The next one can't suck because it is all the same movie. All three parts where shot at the same time so these aren't so much sequals as continueations of the story. I just wish they would have doen the Hobbit as well.IT would have been nice to se it come to life as well.

Ya but if the y would have shot the movie with the other three then it would have looked really cool. If they do make it know it might look like a weird compared to the LOTR movies.

guigo, I'm gonna have to disagree with you.
Those books were the worst things I've ever attempted to read in my life. I tried to trudge through that horrid Hobbit, and tried again with Fellowship, and when I couldn't get myself to read either of those horrid things, I tried reading the Helm's Deep battle, and it was just as bad. Maybe worse.
And don't think I hated them because I hate reading, or hate the genre. I loved the movies, and I've read other Fantasy Series, ALL of them better than LOTR.
I've read all seven of The Sword of Truth,
All nine of The Wheel of Time,
The Dark Elf Trilogy,
many many more, and the one I'm going to ask you to look into, "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin.
LoTR makes a good movie, but a craptacular book. Try any of the ones I mentioned and you'll know what I mean.

Phil has it right, yup yup.
I fell asleep after I read the word hither for the seven-thousandth time.
But even LOTR fans agree that Robert Jordan's books (Wheel of Time) are better than Tolkiens. Well, the non-stubborn ones. There's always a handful of stubborn people.

Well, I have to agree with Aislin. I tried to read Bilbo the Hobbit, and I just couldn't. That was so boring. Now a friend of mine talked me into reading it again, because it's supposed to get more and more interesting (she says), but I'm not convinced. Harry Potter rules!!
