Hey everyone!

I just bought 2x 512MB DDR400 RAM for my pc today (upgrading from 2x 256 DDR333 RAM). However I have the ASUS A7V8X MB which only has 3 Memory slots. It can only support 1x DDR400 stick, 2x DDR333 or 3x DDR266.

Currently i'm running the 2x 512 DDR at 333MHz which is fine but I was wondering whether I should down clock to 266MHz so I can add one of the old 256MB RAM..

Does anyone know which would be the better option?

why not return them and buy a 1ghz DDR400 stick? ;)

I also heard from someone that running the FSB at the same speed as the memory can be better than having different speeds.. well at 333MHz

I have an AMD Athlon running at 266MHz atm... so i'm hoping it'll perform better if i set the ram also at 266MHz :)

as far as I know U can't run Your memory at a faster Mhz rate than ur cpu, if your cpu is running 266Mhz, then your ram should be the same as far as I know.
