Hey all...
As the thread title says, anyone into that sort of thing?
I always like to update the look of my computer with VS (visual styles) with style xp.. its refreshing.. until recently i didnt know how to change the icons on your system (changing .dll file and exe) so ive got a cool overall VS and icons new look with xp, its awesome.. :beam:
For those interested, you can go to http://www.themexp.org to pick up some nice visual style, but my favourite skinning artist would have to be "Krezno" who can be found making some of the popular Visual styles at themexp.
For a while now ive been going to his site and his forums , and i can honestly say that i think he is up there with the best at skinning. :!:
he releases beta versions VS's as well as complete version and some complete ones with variations..
Right now . iam runing the new one he has there. "Skyline" its a awesome OSX looking VS with a nice twist.
Here is my current desktop
:: file size ... 160kb @1600X1200 ::
Ive droped the jpg quality to 50 percent
Soulty's Current Desktop! (http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/site_uploads/desktop.jpg)
you can find Krezno's site here... http://www.d-u-m-b-a-s-sjones.com
:: get rid of the "-" so the link works, Kirupa AI is not letting me say d.u.m.b.a.s.s. lol

lol,yeah ok... :P
i like to group my desktop objects, like current work shortcuts would be in one group, while my computer and all those normal would stay together, usually have game shortcuts in a group as well, but i left it out since i get too tempted to start playing something... get no work done:!:
:P

I had to delete all the little games off my work computer because Id never get work done :) especially spider solitaire. I dont know what it is about that game but it sucks me in!
I group desktop items as well. Current work projects are lined along the top (links to their working folders; any specific alternate links below those) - temporary items in the upper left of the main monitor (which is on the right) - things like temp image downloads i.e. stay puft etc. and personal icons just to the left of those on the second monitor's upper right corner. Resources links in the lower left main monitor and recycle bin in lower right. Hmm yes. Something to store under useless information. :P

That's pretty sweet man...
I really like the way your desktop looks. And I love the icons, even if they are ... puffy :)
Do you know off hand if those styles will work with WindowBlinds?

what's kazaa for?
here's my desktop (OSX theme):
http://joeker.free.fr/pics/eyezdesk.jpg
(as you may notice,
i'm "no one", always use that, so in case the comp sends somthing somewhere without me knowing, at least it comes from no one.. lol
also, this desktop has a lifetime of a week max before i change it again..
keep boredom away..
and: go up a folder from the link and check the other pic there :) )
and btw, if you want some REALLY nice icons, go to www.xicons.com , these are for mac, but you can always save them for windows using Axialis Icon Workshop (or other, but i love this one..)

i had prolix for a while about 1-2 year ago, awesome VS, only thing i hated was the highlighted programs in the taskbar (weird oval shape), just looks wrong to me..

looks ok to me :) the scrollbars always mess with me though. I always think they're backwards - I never think to drag the inset portion (though thats my main draw to this style ;))

I think I went a bit overboard, but I dont have any icons, nice to know how to change them if I ever get back to having them.

I had some pretty decent LS themes going for me back in the day. There were some little issues that eventually turned me off to it though. Minor things that were just enough to annoy me enough not to use it :trout: But you can crank out a decent desktop with it and there are a load of fun, cool modules to get :).
