Hi all! This is my first post, so here it goes:
I am 14 years old and have been working with 3ds and Maya for 2 years, and flash for 1 year. I intern for a studio called Digital World Fx, as a 3d artist, in my spare time. This is a portfolio I made to show my work. Tell me what you think!

Some pieces in your gallery are superb. I think some different fonts would spice the page up a bit:

Yes as ghjr said a better choice of font family's would make the page look a wee better. I always like to use http://www.abstractfonts.com for my logo and emblem fonts. :thumb:
On the light version's preloading screen I would change the text from Dynamic and selectable to just normal.

hmmm....
i dont like the contrast with the html bg. it may look better on high res's if the bgs match or if the swf was lauched in a sized window.
the fonts are definately bland. too much arial.
a music off button would be nice. you made me cut off my music and my speakers :-\
its good, but very bland. maybe add some transitions or something to liven it up a little. i think the color scheme is good, the layout is very simple, but it may be too simple. some pages have to much empty space.
some nice stuff in your gallery though

The opening screen is really impressive. You may need to up your frame rate as the slickness of the opening screen isn't carried over to the boxes they move a bit chuggily.
Menu needs some sort of face lift to meet the rest of your quality of work (refering to the artwork).
Your artwork is great the site needs some sleakness

your 3d is very very, well, cool :) as a fellow 14-15 years old, your 3d wacks mine out of the room :)
the site, i think it needs to have a high fps cause the opening intro is really, chuddy. :) good luck man :)

Hey,
ghjr - Thank you, any others commented about the fonts on different forums. I'll change them.
datapimp - thanx for the font's link. I'll check them out. I never noticed the preloader has selectable text, it goes by so fast. I'll fix it.
gmh526 - yah, I’ll work on the font's. I didn't want the back grounds to be the same color, then it looks like I only put stuff in the center, looks odd. Also many computers have popup blockers now, preventing me to launch it in a window. I'll alos work on the music off button.
Laslett - Thank you, I also got that comment about the frame rate from other people, I'll fix it.
aveceva - Thanx. I'll increase the fps.
Thanx you guys,
Ryan

most things, I noticed have been said already.
The selectable text thing happens in both versions. sound on/off button, preloaders/transitions for the gallery pictures. The video didn't work correctly for me (sound, no image) it would be good if you made the video run within the site to avoid incompatability issues. The profile in my opinion should be written in a more tabular way, ie. Skills, experience, expertise. rather than the story form, though others may disagree.
The backgrounds for your rollovers are different sizes, looks odd. you could adjust the hit states for "gallery 1" etc. so it covers the whole word. And you need to put in a hit state for the email bit at the bottom, at the moment you need to be on the text.
Overall it's a competent site, but needs a bit more work to reflect the quality of your graphic work. And I liked the bg music. :)

as nice as the back ground music was, I would like a button to turn it off. Your gallery is very nice indeed. You have a nice minimalistic design. I would just suggest a tad more colour. Aside from that, very nice.
EDIT: Good choice not putting it in a window.

First thing I noticed was that on the splash screen you've enlarged the flash icon so much it has become pixelated, I'd fix that. Same goes for windows logo.
I checked your dial - up site. I noticed that in your gallery when you clicked on thumbnails there were no enlarged pics (could of been my internet its playing up). I agree with a previous comment that you site is very dull, you should probably try to correct that first before anything else. Use of graphics for you layout would be an alternative.
