I have been looking for inspiration for my new site design, and I think I've found it. Is there a way to make something like this:

in photoshop or flash or fireworks or freehand?
I basically want it to look like a futuristic control panel with these buttons, any help would be appreciated, thanks. :thumb:

man that would be very easy.....just a bunch of vector shapes with glows behind them....for a more dramatic look get the plugin....glare from flaming pear.
Oh and maybe some scanlines.

if you can give it depth and perspective, it could be a very effective and cool interface...
otherwise, it looks like an 8 color box of crayola just threw up a bunch of Jolly Ranchers...

Well photoshop would be the ideal program to do it in, to get the glow look and all, you could use a combination of freehand (or fireworks) and photoshop so you can work with vectors and import crisp graphics into photoshop to manipulate with effects like glow.
I would suggest the buttons could have animation in the button when its moused over, say the guages move or something like that. or you could just have the button illuminate, just alpha fade in another image that has the glow on it. I would do all the animation in flash of course.

I would make the interface then do like a bulge on it or a curve. Because just like rev said it would look like "jolly ranchers" hahahahahah.....funny rev.......Or just recreate it as you see it....get a better pic of a star trek interface....good idea man....run with it before I do....hee hee

Im looking forward to seeing it! Everyone is right, you could even just use filter>Stylize>Glowing edges and colour with the brush tool or something. It would be easy.

yeah, although you're going to have to use filters on this, dont use more than you need. I've seen too much stuff that is just a bunch of filters over a good idea, and this is a really good idea. Use your design abilities and drawing skills too ;)
