How can i make a part of the image transparent in photoshop?

Ok, here it is.

just cut out the parts your want to make transparent (considering this is not the background layer; in which case; duplicate the layer and erase the b/g layer)
OR do the same thing but use an mask layer and paint in black/white the alpha layer according to your pic
OR/AND do a select color range (eyedrop the white) and erase the selection (delete)

there are probably many other ways to do all this =)

make a new file the same dimensions as that
make sure the background is set to transparent
now copy and past the image into the new file
now select the magic wand tool and click on the white part of the pic
press delete
this will now show a white and grey checkerboard patern
thi represents transparency
make sure to save as a .gif or a .png
